Today, the building on the left is now a 3-storey commercial space and a water refilling station stands on the right.
Baybay Barbecue Lane


Today, a construction of a new reclamation area is underway to provide a new space for new commercial establishments and Gaisano Metro.
Barbecue Houses On Bamboo Stilts

Today, the area has been reclamated into a vast holding area for cargoes and a parking space.
Holiday Theater

Today, the infamous theater is now in ruins since it was bombed by unknown perpetrators on December 1982.
Concrete Slides & Monkey Bars at Plaza Independencia


Today, the plaza has been completely facelifted and the concrete slides are now replaced with an all-weather fiberglass slides. The plaza has new pathways and landscaping.

Mercado

Today, the former site of the city’s market place is Prince Town, the city’s largest shopping center.
Lampposts at the Seaside Promenade

Today, the black lampposts have been replaced with solar-powered lampposts.
Cottage at VSU Beach

The cottage was destroyed by Super Typhoon Haiyan in 2013.

Hello! My father is from Baybay but been staying in Manila since then. So, sad to say, have not been there until now.
But, my husband and I would really like to explore the place soon. Thanks for sharing, at least I’ve got to see the old Baybay. God bless 😄

No more barbeque lane?!? 😰 One of the place i want to go and dine when i get back. Plaza and pantalan. I miss that place. Lots of memories. Highschool days.

Hi Princess! Yeah, the barbecue lane has long been gone, about 4 years ago if I’m not mistaken. But the barbecue park has been relocated though; same great taste of the chicken barbecue! 😀
